PRAY FOR THE GUIDANCE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT ON THOSE CHOSEN TO REPRESENT THE NATION

Eugene saw the positive train of events taking place in France as contributing to a participation God’s plan of salvation for all.

But in order for the Almighty hand, that has designed these divine plans from all eternity, to unfold them before our eyes and ensure their perfect realization, we must ensure that “the Creator Spirit, who is sent from on High and works here below as a second creation”, who in the days of the Apostles “renewed the face of the earth” (Ps 103-104,30), is poured out on the men elected to represent the nation, and gives them the wisdom and strength of which He is the source.

    This morning, Eugene’s words seem to leap from the screen and burrow into the deepest part of my being. The words I had attributed to President John F Kennedy where really the inspiration of Khalil Gibran, but which Kennedy used. Eugene sheds light upon those that I meet along the journey of my lifeno matter their role of life. I am reminded for a second of Blessed Joseph Gerard OMI who reminded all of us to love always, to love with ever atom of my being.

    I have fallen into a silent and passive way of railing at the world, at life and at God.
    I sometmes slip away from the path that I have been journeying on as an Oblate Associate and crossing over to a path that filled with “what ifs”, rather than standing still with the good Lord who has planted me where I might stand and walk in the presence of God. I want once again to allow the Beloved to reside within me in such as way as to lead me to the true light.

    In the mist of this reflection my thoughts return to the OMI Rule of Life which has entered my heart and in such a way that it becomes a living expression of the Charism both in my physical and spiritual life.

    It is not by accident that I look up at the logo of the 37th General Chapter, deciding to call out to those traveling together through life, to help me up so that I might return to my journey with them…
