THE PROOF OF THE DIVINITY OF HIS MISSION
Wednesday of the Third Week of Advent
And Jesus said to them in reply,
“Go and tell John what you have seen and heard: the blind regain their sight, the lame walk, lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, the poor have the good news proclaimed to them.”
Lk 7: 22-23
However the Gospel must be taught to all and it must be taught in such a way as to be understood.
The poor, a precious portion of the Christian family, cannot be abandoned to their ignorance.
Our divine Saviour attached such importance to this that he took on himself the responsibility of instructing them and he cited as proof of the divinity of his mission the fact that the poor were being evangelized, pauperes evangelizantur

Last night a friend raised the question of what did Mary’s parent’s ever do that made this necessary for Mary: like me and so many of my friends she struggled to understand the whole dogma of the Immaculate Conception. It was only a week ago that it was explained to me in a way that I was able to understand
and
it was only a week ago that I myself received a grace making me ready to listen and hear, to find a God-created space within my heart to hold it and reflect on it.
I have begun to realize the walls of fear and anger that I built within me, to protect myself and my woundedness – these were walls that I needed to breakdown and let-go-of so that God could create within me a space for a new moment of being evangelized and then sharing that…
Last night I was able to share what had been shared with me, so that my friend might know and experience the joy that I had received. Another small grace and step in this graced time of waiting, reflecting and preparing. Hopefully it is similar for my friend.
