{"id":5452,"date":"2023-04-14T01:00:53","date_gmt":"2023-04-13T23:00:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.eugenedemazenod.net\/?p=5452"},"modified":"2023-04-08T11:03:22","modified_gmt":"2023-04-08T09:03:22","slug":"friday-in-the-octave-of-easter-nourished-by-the-word-of-god","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.eugenedemazenod.net\/?p=5452","title":{"rendered":"FRIDAY IN THE OCTAVE OF EASTER: nourished by the Word of God"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Jesus said to them, &#8220;Come, have breakfast.&#8221;<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">And none of the disciples dared to ask him, &#8220;Who are you?&#8221;<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">because they realized it was the Lord.<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Jesus came over and took the bread and gave it to them,<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">and in like manner the fish.<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: right;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">John 21: 12-13<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3>In John 21:1-14, the disciples had returned to their normal occupation of fishing and the Risen Jesus appeared to them in the midst their everyday activity. They did not recognize him at first, but it was love that opened their eyes.<\/h3>\n<h3>St Eugene had always loved the Risen Jesus present in his Word. In 1837, before becoming Bishop of Marseilles, he looked back on 55 years of lovingly listening to the Word of God:<\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"padding-left: 80px;\"><em><strong>I give you thanks, O Lord, for having made shine forth this light from the sacred deposit of your Holy Scriptures.
