Between July and November 1936, 22 Oblates were martyred because of who they were and what they stood for. The youngest was 18, the next\u00a0oldest was\u00a019, and sixteeen others were in their twenties.

Prayer:<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Almighty and eternal God<\/strong>
\nWho granted to Francisco Esteban and his martyred companions<\/strong>
\nthe grace of giving their lives for Christ,<\/strong>
\nthrough a bloody oblation,<\/strong>
\nhelp us in our weakness,<\/strong>
\nso that through their intercession<\/strong>
\nand following their example,<\/strong>
\nwe too might remain firm in our faith<\/strong>
\nand might be able to give our lives for others<\/strong>
\nthrough the “martyrdom of charity,”<\/strong>
\naccording to the teaching of St. Eugene de Mazenod;<\/strong>
\nand in this way,<\/strong>
\nwe might be able to give witness to the world<\/strong>
\nabout who Jesus Christ is.<\/strong>
\nWe ask this through the intercession of our Mother, Mary Immaculate,<\/strong>
\nthrough Jesus Christ our Lord.<\/strong>
