This letter shows that the seed of the idea had taken root in Eugene and that he was discerning God\u2019s will in this regard. To be in harmony with the will of God was one of the major recurring themes throughout Eugene\u2019s life and actions.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h5><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">I keenly desire to know your Constitutions, not that I think I will probably come to join you.<\/span><\/strong><\/h5>\n<h5><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">I still do not know what God wants of me but am so resolved to do his will that as soon as it is known to me I will leave tomorrow for the moon, if I have to.<\/span><\/strong><\/h5>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><em>Letter to Father Forbin Janson, 28 October 1814, O.W.
