{"id":1538,"date":"2012-07-06T05:00:26","date_gmt":"2012-07-06T03:00:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.eugenedemazenod.net\/?p=1538"},"modified":"2012-07-04T18:52:24","modified_gmt":"2012-07-04T16:52:24","slug":"the-god-who-delights-and-plays","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.eugenedemazenod.net\/?p=1538","title":{"rendered":"THE GOD WHO DELIGHTS AND PLAYS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Continuing his reflection on creation as a place for experiencing the presence of God, Eugene quotes Proverbs 8:31 about God \u201c<em><strong>at play everywhere on his earth<\/strong>, delighting to be with the children of men<\/em>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0<strong>And the Christian, going deeper, emerges from this kind of ravishment to yield himself to sentiments of love and thanksgiving, at the thought of this All Powerful God<\/strong><\/h5>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>who created all these marvels, playfully, ludens in orbe terrarum,<\/strong><\/h5>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>who draws near to man, who is confounded and lost at the mere contemplation of the least of his works,<\/strong><\/h5>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>to speak with him, instruct, direct him, join himself to him in the intimacy of the most amazing love,<\/strong><\/h5>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>to dissolve him as it were in his being,<\/strong><\/h5>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>and lift him up to share his glory.<\/strong><\/h5>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Oh God, Oh God, and for the most part men live without thinking of this!<\/strong><\/h5>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Then Eugene rejoices because the aim of his ministry was to bring youth and others to this awareness of God and to live in communion with God \u2013 and Adolphe Tavernier and many others of the Youth Congregation had understood this reality.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Adolf, my Adolf, let us bless the Lord for giving us a heart able to understand and especially to perceive him.<\/strong><\/h5>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><em>Letter to Adolphe Tavernier, 12 October 1819, O.W.
