This course was simply awesome – it opened a whole new way of seeing the Church and the Holy Spirit, not just as givers of the gifts but as guardians. It helped me to see the Church in a new and much brighter light; helped me to see that my love for her has not just been something I dreamed up or decided to copy but rather how she, how all of us are a part of the greater whole. My love for her as an institute has and continues to deepen even as I grow ever more aware of how I want and ask for more from her.
To love and serve the Church has taken on a new and deeper meaning for me. It is a little like going to the symphony or the theatre and as the curtains go up we see only dimly the backdrop and the performers coming on stage to find their places, to tune their instruments. Suddenly the spotlights are turned on and instruments are silenced only to begin with magnificent sound, the colours are vivid and bright – full of life; and the sound – the sound is magnificent as it winds its way into and through us – filling us. And at the end of the evening when we leave we find ourselves still filled with the light, and our senses still hum with life – and we have become forever changed by all of it.
