Eugene reminds the members of the Youth Congregation of the central reality of their lives:

The members, recognizing that the most honourable quality for them is that of being Christian, will never be ashamed to openly profess this in whatever circumstances they find themselves.
They will remember the challenging words of the Son of God, that on the judgment day before his Father, he will not recognize whoever was ashamed of him on earth, and instead he will claim as his own whoever was not afraid to profess his name in the presence of others.

Règlements et Statuts de la Congrégation de la Jeunesse, 1813, p. 22

“Everyone therefore who acknowledges me before others, I also will acknowledge before my Father in heaven; but whoever denies me before others, I also will deny before my Father in heaven.” Matthew 10:32-33
